Hi Guys,
Am I correct in assuming that a DNP-COM to PC-COM connection requires a level-shifter (like the MAX232, for instance)?
The documentation for the DNP/SK25 doesn't seem completely clear about the compatibility of the kit's on-board serial ports, other than mentioning in passing that they are "TTL".
Thanks! _________________ --

Hi Jim,
the COM-Port of the DNP/SK25 has no onboard RS232 transceiver. The signals come as LVTTL level (3V) directly from the DIL/NetPC. To connect the interface with a PC-COM you are right that you have to insert a RS232 transceiver (e.g. ICL3222) between the DNP/SK25 and the null modem cable from the PC. The signal allocation you will find in the DNP/EVA10 Hardware Reference.
Have a nice day
